REVIEW PROCESS OVERVIEW

The review process of Teacher Education and Practice is to be viewed as a developmental process in that comments are provided to contribute to the development of the authoršs scholarly skill and to the development of the authoršs research as expressed in the manuscript. Once received, the Editorial Staff will review a manuscript and then, if viewed acceptable for peer review, the manuscript will be mailed for blind review to 3 independent reviewers.

The review process takes approximately 3-4 weeks between receipt by the Editorial Staff and return of comments from reviewers. The author will be notified by e-mail of our receipt of the submission. In some cases, a review process may take longer depending on availability of reviewers for particular topics or research. Once the Editorial Staff has reviewed the comments provided by the reviewers, a decision would be made of whether to accept or reject the submission for publication and the author(s) will be contacted. The first author will be contacted in writing and narrative feedback will be provided. The total cycle for review may take up to 6 weeks or longer depending on specific topics being reviewed, availability of reviewers, etc.

The Editorial Staff will assign a manuscript identification number. All correspondence related to the manuscript should reference the assigned manuscript number and should be directed to the designated Editorial Staff member and/or Editor. Typically, the first author is designated as the contact person and will receive communication related to acceptance and/or revision requirements. The designated contact person should be the only person contacting the Editor or Editorial Staff member assigned to work with the manuscript.

When a manuscript is conditionally accepted for publication, the author(s) is expected to revise and resubmit a manuscript as requested and according to the time line established. This will ensure that our production dead lines are met.

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION GUIDELINES

All submissions should be prepared using APA 5th Edition including double spaced text, etc. Use a standard font style/size of Times New Roman 12 or Times 12. Margins should be one (1) inch. Tables, figures, etc. should be provided in the text when possible and as separate pages following the last page of the manuscript. Page length should be 20 double-spaced pages. The manuscript should be submitted in hard copy (3 copies) and soft copy on disk (including text files and files for tables or other graphics).

The copy should be presented on a floppy disk containing only the related manuscript and in Microsoft Word 6.0 or more recent version (either Mac or PC). All graphics should be presented in Microsoft Word or in compatible software on the same disk. A notation should be made as to the software type and version used in preparation of all manuscript files. In all cases, for a manuscript to be considered for review, the author(s) must provide a soft copy and three hard copies. Provide a cover page with the title, author(s) name, affiliation, mailing address, phone, fax, e-mail and a brief biographical sketch. Please format the paper according to APA guidelines, and arrange for a careful proof editing of the paper.

All author reference should be deleted from the paper as required for a blind review. In the event that the manuscript author cites her/his own work, then "author" should be substituted for the name of the actual author name. Include a 50-100 word abstract on a separate page from the paper.
