Elementary Education Honors Program
Is your GPA 3.25 or higher?
Then consider joining the Elementary Education Honors program which is a part of the University School of Honors program. The Elementary Education Department recognizes that many of their students carry a higher GPA as they enter their major studies and wants to encourage that success with honors opportunities. Once a student is admitted into the University School of Honors they can take specially created 300 and 400 level honors sections of courses or receive credit through an honors contract. All our faculty are trained in the honors process.

Obtaining an honors degree or simply having honors hours listed on your transcript gives you an edge in the job market as you have tangible proof that you have gone beyond the standard certification process. More tangibly, as part of the School of Honors in the department of Elementary Education, you have the following benefits:
- Access to special honors sections which are usually smaller in class size
- 20 feet of free laminating for the semester you are in an honors class
- Opportunity to purchase an Elementary Education Honors student shirt to wear during internship and student teaching. This shirt instantly identifies you as being an honor student while in the classroom.
