The Faculty Senate has investigated the benefits available to faculty members, and has developed the following list. It may not be complete and at times discounts may be discontinued. Educational Benefits
The university has an employee scholarship program that enables employees, their spouses and/or their dependents to receive up to a $1,000/term and up to $2,000/year scholarship toward tuition. There are several limitations and conditions, and paperwork to be completed. Health Benefits
The University Health Clinic (Phone: (936) 468-4008) offers, from time to time, flu vaccinations and other kinds of shots at reduced costs. These are posted at the web site: http://www.sfasu.edu/healthservices/.
The Employee Wellness Connection (EWC) is designed to create opportunities for education and participation in programs which will improve the overall health and wellness of each employee of SFA. The EWC program offerings are free to all full-time and part-time faculty, administrators and staff.

Faculty receive a 10% discount at all dining facilities (Chick-Fil-A, Panda Express, Starbucks, etc.) in the Baker Patillo Student Center.

The Counseling Center
Cookies with the Counselors
Periodically the Counseling Center offers the opportunity for faculty and staff to come visit, understand the referral process, answer questions, etc. while they offer cookies and coffee in Rusk 333. The monthly dates from vary, but the next one is April 22, 2009 from 2 – 4 p.m. Contact Nicole C. Preston x 2415 for more information.
Recreation

SFA faculty and staff are eligible for a 50% discount for 2 adult season tickets for all the fine arts series and most individual events. These include quality national productions, recitals, ballet, theater, etc.
Athletic Events
Faculty members can purchase discounted reserved season tickets for football (approximately $35 per family member for the season) and basketball (approximately $50 per family member for the season) at the ticket office located in the University Center.

Movies-SFA Movie Theater
Movies for faculty and staff are $2.00, and the concessions are a great price: drinks $0.75, Candy $0.75, Popcorn $0.75, and a Combo Pack $2, with free popcorn and drink refills during current movie.

Jack Backers Book Store (2301 North St.)
Offers a 15% discount for all faculty on all merchandise, including books, t-shirts, supplies, etc.
Barnes and Noble on campus
Offers a 10% discount on all purchases for all faculty and staff with ID except software and “convenience items” at the campus Barnes and Noble bookstore (check with Barnes and Noble for definitions). SFA Shirts from Barnes & Nobles – 20% discount on shirt purchases made on Friday’s only.
AT&T Cell Phone Discount – Advise the AT&T Store of the foundation number 02255782 and let them know you are from SFA to receive a discount (at this point we are told it is 15%).
First Choice Contracts

Sears Automotive offers a 5% discount on tires, batteries, oil changes, etc. to SFA employees. You just need to request the SFA discount.
