The Martin Museum of Art at Baylor University recently acquired the above pictured "Japanese Pillow with Goose Lid," an earthenware sculpture by Stephen F. Austin State University Professor Piero Fenci. Karin Gilliam, the museum's director, said the sculpture makes an excellent addition to the museum's Permanent Collection.

"The rich, gold glaze has a mesmerizing depth. That, combined with the graceful intertwining of the geese and fascinating subject matter, create a memorable work of art."

The museum acquisition is the third in a year for Fenci. The first was by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and the second by the Tyler Museum of Art.
