Sylvia Bierschenk - November 19, 2007

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Theatre will present a student-directed production of Tennessee Williams' "27 Wagons Full of Cotton" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec.1 in the Downstage Theater of the Griffith Fine Arts Building.

The one-act play revolves around a cotton plantation owner, Jake, and his wife, Flora, and their problems. The cast consists of Houston junior Xzavien Hollins, playing Jake; Houston freshman Jaqueline Pirtle, portraying Flora; and Sugar Land sophomore Blake Weir, playing Vicarro.

Oliver previously directed "The Red Coat" and served as the hair and make-up designer for "The Night of the Iguana," "States of Grace," "Chamber Music," "Grease" and "Medal of Honor." He also played Fedya in "The Two Maples" and was a crew member for "Anton in Show Business," "Member of the Wedding," "Six Characters in Search of an Author," A Cheever Evening" and "Die Fledermaus."
