GRANDEUR AND VIRTUOSITY We welcome the 2008 Schmidbauer Competition winner, pianist Kwan Yi, in performing Liszt’s Second Piano Concerto. The orchestra will open the concert with Rossini’s ever-popular William Tell Overture, and the presentation of Sibelius' Symphony No. 2 will bring the evening to a powerful close. Single tickets: $18 for adult, $12 for senior and $6 forstudent. (This concert is also a part of the University Series.) |
NEW BEGINNINGS
Under a new name, the SFA Symphony Orchestra will present its season-opening concert with several classic works. Among them are Handel's Harp Concerto, featuring SFA faculty member Mollie Marcuson; Rimsky-Korsakov's Capriciosso Espagnol and Dvorak's Symphony No. 8. Single tickets: $10 for adult, $8 for senior and $5 for student. |

BROADWAY, MOVIE AND CLASSICS
Join the orchestra for either performance of this concert filled with music from Broadway, the big screen and the classics. The orchestra, in collaboration with area faculty, will present a selection of favorites that is sure to entice everyone. Single tickets: $15 for adult, $12 for senior and $5 for student. |
2008 CONCERTO / ARIA WINNERS
The annual Concerto/Aria Winners concert boasts SFA’s best of the best on stage with the orchestra. The evening promises to be filled with great music making and wonderful camaraderie as we support our students in their performances. The orchestra will close with Beethoven's monumental Seventh Symphony. Single tickets: $10 for adult, $8 for senior and $5 for student. |

JOYFUL CELEBRATION
The orchestra closes its season with the greatest of sounds, including Rimsky-Korsakov’s jubilant epic work, Russian Easter Festival Overture; a new work by SFA composer Stephen Lias; and Brahms' Second Symphony, a work filled with pastoral themes and joyful sounds.
