The Griffith Gallery is located in the Griffith Fine Arts Building, Room 208. The Art Center @ the Old Opera House is located at 329 E. Main Street. It contains two galleries, one on each floor. All three of these galleries are open 12:30 – 5 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.
All exhibitions, receptions and gallery talks are FREE and open to the public.

MADE IN THE USA Oct. 20, 7:30 p.m. Join the Orchestra of the Pines as it opens its season with music that had its beginning right here in the United States. With a program of works by Gershwin, Copland, Rouse and Torke, the evening promises to be full of music that will invoke fond memories and expressive thoughts. Chrisitina Guenther, SFA assistant professor of flute, joins the orchestra in Rouse's flute concerto, a powerful work depicting all sides of humanity. INTERNATIONAL SEJONG SOLOISTS Comprised of today's leading young soloists from eight different nations, Sejong is known for its cohesiveness, beautiful sound and refreshing musical style, performing string orchestral works as well as solo and chamber repertoire. The New York-based ensemble tours worldwide under the musical direction of Hyo Kang, renowned professor of violin at the Julliard School. AS YOU LIKE IT Nov. 13 - 17, 7:30 p.m. Love conquers all in one of Shakespeare's most charming comedies. Independently exiled to the enchanting (and perhaps enchanted) Forest of Arden, young lovers Rosalind and Orlando find each other again... except that he doesn't know that, since she's in disguise. EILEEN IVERS Dec. 1, 7:30 p.m. Seven-time all-Ireland fiddle champion Eileen Ivers captures the spirit and magic of the season in her heartwarming holiday show. The program features traditional Irish songs, original tunes and holiday features specially arranged by Eileen Ivers and her band, Immigrant Soul. Feb. 19 - 23, 7:30 p.m. The students of a conservative Edinburgh, Scotland girls' school of the 1930s idolize their irrepressible teacher, Miss Brodie, who instills the value of art, passion and daring in the hearts and minds of her "gerls." On loan from The Moody Mansion Museum in Galveston, this presentation of sacred Russian images from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries is guaranteed to kindle the holiday spirit. REFINED: ABUNDANCE Refined is a biannual juried exhibition sponsored by the SFA School of Art. This year's theme, "Abundance," seeks to demonstrate the wide breadth of originality in the jewelry discipline throughout the world. Juror is Charon Kransen, an art dealer specializing in contemporary jewelry and owner of Charon Kransen Arts (CKA) in New York City. ROGER SHIMOMURA: AN AMERICAN FOREIGNER April 5 - May 18 Roger Shimomura's work is an aesthetic and political comparison between contemporary America and traditional Japan. Using images from both cultures, Shimomura creates a complicated layering of pictorial information and social observation. As his paintings and prints are interpreted and decoded by the viewers, Shimomura's tangled intentions are revealed in a subtly political way.
