“The Nacogdoches community and Stephen F. Austin State University were blessed when this couple decided to retire in East Texas,” said Jill Still, SFA director of development. The Coles have made a positive impact on the entire community and are central to the success of numerous programs and projects, both at the University and in the community. “Almost every area of the university, and most notably art, music, theatre, athletics, nursing, and audiology, has been touched by the Coles' legendary generosity. There are not enough awards around to adequately express our love and appreciation for them.”
The Coles were inducted into the Stephen F. Austin Society during the 2006 SFA Annual Gala.
