Lavoy Moore Entrepreneur Professorship Established

Lavoy Moore

Family members of Lavoy Moore and Dr. Marlin Young, Vice President of Academic
Affairs, at the 2003 SFASU Foundation Gala.

The late Lavoy Moore and his family members have recently established a substantial recruiting tool for the Nelson Rusche College of Business in the form of an entrepreneur professorship. The professorship was established to foster entrepreneurial business programs at SFA by recruiting and retaining faculty members who specialize in this area as well as increasing the number of entrepreneurial classes offered to SFA students. It is our desire that the Moore Professorship will lead to an entrepreneurial studies program within the Nelson Rusche College of Business.

Lavoy Moore, founder of Moore Supply Company, a leading plumbing supply business with many locations around Texas, passed away in December of 2001. Lavoy Moore was recognized at the 2003 SFASU Foundation’s Annual Gala for his role in expanding the entrepreneurial curriculum and programs at SFA through the establishment of the Lavoy Moore Entrepreneur Professorship.
