Does the Health Service issue excuses from class?

The Health Service does not issue routine excuses from class, but follows the ruling of the Faculty Senate. If a professor has notified his/her class at the beginning of the semester that a note is required to verify absence due to illness it can obtained at the time of the visit. A note can only be obtained if patient is seen by a physician. The note does not constitute an excuse, which is a decision between the student and the professor.

Does SFA provide a student insurance plan?

Although services at the Health Clinic are provided through a portion of the student's service fee, students needing additional coverage outside the clinic can purchase an Accident & Sickness Insurance Plan, which is accessible through a private company for SFA students. For the A&S insurance application and informational packet contact the Health Clinic office at 936-468-4008.
