The Junior High School is a three-story, multi-buildling campus. The main building, a Gothic Revival structure, was constructed sometime in the 1890s.

Historical Background

The Junior High School was first the Marshall High School which was organized in the 1890s. It was preceded by Marshall University and the Marshall Masonic Female Institute. The Marshall Masonic Female Institute began ioperation in 1842 as a part of Marshall University. It operated until 1882, at which time it was closed for lack of enrollment.
