Implementation Project Making a Difference in the Community
Dr. DawnElla Rust was recently recognized in SFA Today for her work being done through the Make an Impact @ SFA initiative. Her implementation project gives students the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a real-world context by providing free health and wellness seminars with the Lighten Up East Texas program.

FLC II Participant presents strategies for awakening economic curiosity at Houston PRA
Phelps, associate professor of economics and former FLC member, was invited to present at the weekly luncheon of the Houston Property Rights Association. He detailed the link between economic literacy and being an active political citizen via his presentation Novel Strategies for Awakening Economic Curiosity.

We would also like to congratulate Dr. Kelly Noe for her presentation at the Annual Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants Accounting Educator's Conference, which was focused on her Field-Based Learning experiences gained through the Make an Impact @ SFA project. Check it out!
FLC Participants get University Recognition
Dr. Matthew Kwiatkowski, who participated with the Make an Impact @ SFA project through the Field-Based Learning platform in Fall 2012-Spring 2013 was recently recognized for his work with the Agriculture Department.
Also, Dr. Sudeshna Roy who participated with us this Fall 2013-Spring 2014 through the Mentored Undergraduate Scholarship platform was recognized for her work with the Department of Languages, Cultures, and Communication.
