
Mrs. Bridwell teaches interior design and interior merchandising courses at all levels but primarily entry level and intermediate courses including Principles, Elements, and Resources in Design; Fundamentals of Design; Residential Design; Housing; and Accessories in Interiors. Mrs. Bridwell has been a faculty member at SFA since Fall of 1995 and in 2007 received the University Teaching Excellence Award for the College of Education. She is a Texas-licensed interior designer with over 25 years of experience in residential and light commercial design.

Dr. Perritt teaches interior design courses at all levels of the curriculum. Lecture classes include History of Interior Furniture, Furnishings, and Architecture, Lighting, and Materials and Cabinetry. Design studios/labs include Graphics, Residential Design, Commercial Design, and Computer-aided Design (CAD). Since beginning her SFA teaching career in 1985, she has received four teaching excellence awards and four research grants. Her areas of specialization include environments for older adults and Alzheimer's residents as well as compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. In 2003, Dr. Perritt served as President of the Interior Design Educators Council, the international professional organization for university teachers of interior design.
In 2008, she launched the online graduate emphasis in healthcare interior design.

Mrs. Swearingen teaches undergraduate and graduate interior design courses, including intermediate and advanced interior design, creative design solutions, building construction systems, commercial design and the capstone interior design courses. Lecture courses concentrate on codes, environmental factors, materials, and cabinetry and business aspects of interior design. She has over 25 years of teaching experience and over 25 years of extensive practical experience. She was instrumental in establishing the SFASU Design Center where campus personnel may view available selections for new furniture and furnishings for university projects. Mrs. Swearingen has served as Regional Chair for Interior Design Educators Council and numerous other positions. She works and teaches graduate students who want to pursue an interior design emphasis.
