Stephen F. Austin State University Announces
The Wisely Honors Study Abroad Awards for Students in the College of Liberal Arts
The School of Honors at SFASU is pleased to announce the competition for five awards for any currently enrolled student who registers for a travel and study abroad program offered through any department within the College of Liberal Arts. These five annual awards are made through the generosity of the Dorothy Wisely School of Honors Endowment. They pay $1,000, on a one-time basis, for any student who registers for an out-of-the-country travel program that earns three or more hours of college credit.
In the spring of each year, the school of Honors will announce the award winners, who may use the funds for travel in either long term or in the summer. The award must be used within a twelve month period. The normal date of application will be February 1st of each year, with a decision made by the end of April by the Director and the University Honors Council. The student should have a minimum GPA of 3.25, but there will be no other purely academic criteria for the competition. For application forms, please visit the Honors School in Ferguson G76.
Also this scholarship requires a typed letter of 500 words or more justifying goals and agenda for study abroad, and confirmation from the professor in charge of the program to certify that the student will be eligible for study abroad and has made plans to participate.
