Break Housing Information
Break Housing is Available as Space Permits
** NOTE: There is extremely limited space for break housing.
Students who live in 9-month facilities do have the option to request break housing (as space permits), at an additional cost, for times when their facility is closed down.

To request a space, students need to complete the Break Housing Form, during the sign up times on our Housing Calendar with your name, ID number, and a phone number where we may reach you.

We will not accept forms that are not sent during the sign up time on our Housing Calendar.

Assignments will be made on a first serve basis as space permits. View dates that assignments will be sent out on our Housing Calendar.

If space permits (** NOTE: There is extremely limited space for break housing.) and you are assigned, assignments will be emailed through your SFA email address.

If you are assigned, you need to come to the Housing Office, Austin Building room 131, the day before the break housing begins to receive an assignment card.

You would then take the assignment card to the Front Desk of the facility you are temporarily assigned to pick up your key the day the break housing begins.

When you come to housing, you will need to set up a time to return your key and check out with the building supervisor.

If you do not return your key by this time, a recore charge of $38.40 and charges for continuing break housing will be added to your bill in addition to the original break housing charge.

Break housing is not guaranteed - it is first serve (according to the sign up dates on the Housing Calendar).

All break housing residents will have a roommate during the break.

Break housing guests are not allowed to have additional guests stay with them overnight in the room.

All current Community Guidelines apply during the break.

If you have any questions over the semester break please contact the building supervisor.

For emergencies, you may call UPD at 468-2608.
Students may email for Break Housing according to the dates on the Housing Calendar.
COST: The cost for Break Housing is $10 a night. Your student account will be charged before the Break Housing begins according to the dates on your request form.
Breaks during the year are posted on our Housing Calendar.
Students who are in 12-month facilities (Garner Apartments, and University Woods Apartments) are not required to move out during breaks unless they check out and leave on-campus housing or the university.
