Fall Positions Still Available!!!!!!

We still have spots available for Community Assistants and Desk Assistants for the Fall 2008 semester!

 

Can I apply for a position right now?
Yes, simply call SFA Residence Life at 5304 or email Brian at btblackwell@sfasu.edu stating what position you’re interested in and leave us your summer contact information.  Brian will then snail mail an application to your home address which saves you a trip back to Nacogdoches!  Simply fill out the application and when completed, mail it to the following address:

Will I have to come to SFA for an interview?
No, we can conduct an over the phone interview, so that you do not have to travel back to campus.  However, if you prefer a face to face interview, no problem. J

How long until I find out if I get to interview or not?
Give our office 5 business days from the time you mail your completed application back to us to contact you about a phone interviews, or to ask for clarification about your completed application.

If offered a position, will I begin training with all the other CAs and DAs?
Yes, if offered a position you would need to return to campus on August 14th if you are offered a CA position, and on August 19th if offered a DA position.

Monday, August 25th 2008 (classes resume) – Applications for all positions are available in the Residence Life Office (1st floor of Wisely Hall).  Residence Life is open Monday- Friday from 8-5p.m.  It closed from 12- 1p.m. for lunch.

Wednesday, October 1st 2008 – Mandatory Info Session for anyone interested in the Community Assistant, Desk Assistant positions.  An info session is where applicants come to learn more about the specifics on job duties, compensations, advantages, etc.  There will be current Residence Life staff members present to answer any questions you may have about your future job! You only have to attend one of the two info sessions.  The location of the info sessions is TBA.

Thursday, October 2nd 2008 - Mandatory Info Session – location TBA

Friday, October 10th 2008- Applications are due in the Residence Life Office (1st Floor Wisely Hall) by 5:00pm.

Monday, October 13th 2008 - All applicants will be sent an email confirming their application materials have been received (or what is lacking).  Applicants with completed files, who meet the minimum requirements, will then be invited to participate in the Selection Process on Saturday, October 18th 2008Participation in the Selection Interview Process is a requirement to be considered for hire.

Saturday, October 18th 2008 – DA/CA Selection Process will take place from 1:00-5:00 p.m. (4 hour process) Attire is professional dress, ready to impress!  Location – TBA

 Friday, November 7th 2008 - Job offers for the 2008/09 academic year will be available for pick-up in the Residence Life Center (1st Floor Wisely Hall) by 5:00 p.m. Applicants will accept or decline the position in person at this time. Letters need to be picked up and positions must be accepted no later than Wednesday, November 12th 2008 by 5:00p.m.

Wednesday, November 12th 2008- Job offer acceptances are due in the Residence Life Center (1st Floor Wisely Hall) no later than 5pm.  Failure to accept a position by this day will result in your position being filled by another qualified applicant.

Sunday, January 11th 2009- Community Assistants return for spring training by noon

Monday, January 12th 2009- First day of CA training

Wednesday, January 14th 2009- Desk Assistants return for spring training by noon

Thursday, January 15th 2009 – First day of DA training
