Returning Student Housing Checklist - Fall

Returning for the Fall:

On-Campus Requirement: Students who have earned less than 60 hours or who are younger than 21 years of age reside and dine on campus and have the opportunity to discover the full university experience.

  1. Housing options and rates: (April)
  2. Priority Sign-Up/Cancellation: (April)
  3. On-Campus Requirement: Students who have earned less than 60 hours or who are younger than 21 years of age reside and dine on campus and have the opportunity to discover the full university experience
  4. If you did not complete Priority Sign-Up (you will lose your current space and will receive a registration hold on your account until you complete one of the below)
  5. Suspended Students – this only applies to students who were put on Academic Suspension after the spring term – June - August
    • Contact your dean to find out how to be re-instated to the university.
    • Complete the Suspension Re-Application form
    • Once you have been re-admitted to the university and have submitted the Suspension Re-Application form, a housing assignment will be made for you. The Residence Life Department does not guarantee that the student will be placed in the same facility or room that was previously reserved for the fall semester. Placement will be made based on available space.
      • When an assignment has been made for you an email will be sent to your SFA email address.
  6. Change unit or facility (after receiving assignment and contract completed): June- August
    • Fall: (Option open ONLY if space is available), dates will be posted on the Residence Life Calendar
    • Summer: May 1st (only facility assignments will be available, unit assignments will be given at check-in)
  7. Roommate information (Available after contract is complete)
  8. Cancelling Housing assignment (if you meet requirements - review PDF of housing contract): - April- August
    In order to get deposit refunded, student must cancel by the following dates:
    • Fall: July 1
    • Spring: December 20
    • Summer 1 & 2: May 20
    • Instructions on how to Cancel housing
    • Verify your contract is complete by following these instructions.
    • If you will continue to be enrolled in SFA and you have been assigned a meal plan, your meal plan election will remain on your account unless you cancel it. You may view more information about this at the Student Services website
