General Information
There are 36 million Americans with some degree of hearing loss and over 80 percent will go untreated. This number includes men, women, and children of all ages. Many people report feeling isolated and embarrassed about their hearing loss and are unaware of their options. Audiologists at the Cole Audiology Lab can identify, treat and make appropriate referrals for all types of hearing loss, as well as provide continuing hearing healthcare to the East Texas community. The Cole Audiology Lab at Stephen F. Austin State University offers comprehensive audiological services to the East Texas community and is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, as well as those associated with SFA.
Comprehensive Care for All Ages
Diagnostic hearing evaluations for patients of all ages are available in the Cole Audiology Lab. If a hearing loss is identified, you may choose to continue receiving audiological services at the Cole Audiology Lab. Dr. Frank Brister and Dr. Kelly Langston Jobe offer follow-up services, including digital hearing aid and assistive listening device fitting, hearing aid cleaning and repair. Fees
Fees will vary depending upon the type of service performed and generally range between $40 and $250. We do not accept health insurance; however, we will assist you with filing an insurance claim. Discounted services are offered for individuals who have Medicaid insurance, SFA students and SFA employees. Additionally, we offer payment plan options at 0% interest rate.
Hearing Aids - Reduced Cost
We offer a 30 day trial before you pay for the hearing aids. There is a $100 non-refundable fitting fee when the hearing aids are dispensed. If you choose to keep the hearing aids once the trial period is completed, the $100 fitting fee will go toward the cost of your hearing aids. Payment plan options are also available at 0% interest rate.
Appointments
The Cole Audiology Lab is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Anyone can call to schedule an appointment at 936-468-1252. Appointments are available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Location
The Cole Audiology Lab is located on the SFASU Campus in the Human Services Building, 2100 North Raguet, Suite 205. Clinic parking is available in a parking lot located on the north side of the building.
MISSION
The mission of the Gwen and Ed Cole Audiology Lab is to achieve clinical excellence in hearing healthcare by providing professional services using state of the art equipment by knowledgeable, successful and caring audiologists dedicated to ethical service and continued professional growth.
