Passwords

Using myPassword

SFA uses Active Directory to manage access to mySFA, networked computers, Exchange e-mail, and other SFA systems. myPassword, located at https://mypassword.sfasu.edu, is used to manage the Active Directory password. It is important to set up your myPassword profile so that you can reset your password in the event you forget it. Once logged into your myPassword profile, you can set three security questions. These security questions will allow you to resolve password issues without having to contact SFA.

If faculty/staff forget their mySFA password and have not set up a myPassword profile, they must contact the Help Desk at (936) 468-1212 to have their password reset.

If students forget their mySFA password and have not set up a myPassword profile, they must contact the Office of the Registrar at (936) 468-2501.

E-mail Passwords

SFA is migrating all faculty/staff from POP3/IMAP e-mail server to an Exchange e-mail server. These two servers are very different but a key difference is the password. POP3/IMAP (sfaadm or titan) uses an sfaadm-server based password, whereas Exchange uses the Active Directory username and password (the password used to log into the SFA domain and mySFA). The POP3/IMAP server requires users to change their password every 90 days, but Exchange does not. The process of changing or resetting the password is different for these two e-mail systems.

To change or reset your Exchange password, you must change your Active Directory password, which is also used to log into mySFA, SFA computers, and other SFA systems. Go to https://mypassword.sfasu.edu and login to your myPassword profile to change or reset your Active Directory password.

To reset a sfaadm or titan POP3/IMAP account, go to https://titan.sfasu.edu/facStaff/facStaff_pwd_reset.html. You must know either your Campus ID, mySFA username or Social Security Number, as well as your mySFA (Active Directory) password to use this page.

For help with e-mail passwords, or to determine if you are on POP3/IMAP or Exchange, please contact the Help Desk at (936) 468-1212. Students will not be moved to Exchange.
