Sending Mail Through SFA's E-mail Servers



Instructions for Outlook Express 6

To access your configuration settings for Outlook 6, choose "Tools" and then "Accounts". Click the "Mail" tab if it is not already selected. With the name of your account highlighted, click the "Properties" button. The following images will show you the rest. When you are finished making your changes, click "OK", then "Close".


If you use Outlook Express and your incoming server is IMAP, your "Advanced" tab should look like this. Use your mouse to put check marks next to "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)". The port number for "Incoming server (IMAP)" will automatically change to the correct number. You will have to change the port number for "Outgoing server (SMTP)" to 465.




If you use Outlook Express and your incoming server is POP3, your "Advanced" tab should look like this. Use your mouse to put check marks next to "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)". The port number for "Incoming server (POP3)" will automatically change to the correct number. You will have to change the port number for "Outgoing server (SMTP)" to 465.




For all Outlook Express users, your "Server" tab should show a check mark next to "My server requires authentication". You will then need to click on "Settings" next to that. See the next image.




For all Outlook Express users, you want to make sure that you have "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" selected. Click "OK".




If your "Advanced" and "Server" tabs look like the ones above, you are finished changing your configuration and you can click "OK", then "Close".
