NEAX 2400 DTERM SERIES III TELEPHONE QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE

RECEIVING A CALL
Depress ringing line to answer the following calls:
Outside Call Fast Ring Signal
Inside Call Normal Ring Signal

PLACING A CALL:
Outside Call:............................Dial 9 followed by the desired number.
Internal Call:.............................Dial the 4-digit extension number

UP / DOWN ARROWS:
LCD Contrast: Press the up or down arrow key while phone is idle
Speaker/Handset Volume: Press the up or down arrow key during conversation
Ringer Volume: Press the up or down arrow key during ring cycle

FUNCTION KEY ACTIVITIES:
FNC + 1 Turns microphone on or off
FNC + 3 Selects ringer tone
FNC + 4 Adjusts transmission/receiving volume

SPEAKER PHONE:
When using the speaker to answer or place a call, you must first activation your microphone by pressing the 'MIC' key. The 'MIC' light indicator will light red and 'MIC' will flash on the display.

TRANSFERRING A CALL:

1) Press the TRANSFER button and hear an interrupted dial tone

2) Dial the station number to receive the call

3) Hear ringing or converse and hang up to complete transfer

NOTE: Depressing the TRANSFER button a second time before the transferred call is answered will cancel the transfer function and return the caller to the party that originally answered the call.

CONFERENCE CALLING:

1) With a call in progress (internal or outside) press the TRANSFER button

2) Dial a station number or the desired outside number for the third party

3) Wait for the third party to answer and inform them of the conference call

4) Press the CONF button and a three-way conference is established
The associated CONF button lights and CNF will appear in the display.

CALL HOLD:
To Place a Caller on Hold: Press HOLD button once and the associated LED will flash green. Replace handset.
Hold Retrieval: Lift handset and depress the desired (green) flashing line button.

REDIAL:
Pressing the REDIAL button will display the last five numbers that you called.
Press the REDIAL button until the desired number is displayed and then press * to call that specific number.

CALL FORWARDING:

All Calls - Redirects all of your calls to another extension or to voicemail
To Set: Lift handset, press FWD-A button, dial the extension to which the calls are to be directed
To Cancel: Lift handset, press FWD-A button

Busy/No Ans - Redirects your calls when your line is busy or you do not answer.
To Set: Lift handset, press FWD-B/NA button, dial the extension to which the calls are to be directed
To Cancel: Lift handset, press FWD-B/NA button

RECALL:
This key is used to disconnect a call in progress and receive immediate dial tone in order to place a new call.

TO PARK A CALL:

CALL PARK allows you to 'park' a call in the telephone system. The call can then be retrieved from any telephone on the system.

To Park:
Press FLASH, Dial *2, Hang up.

To Retrieve a Parked Call From the Extension Where the Call was Originally Parked:
Lift handset and dial #2

To Retrieve a Parked Call from Any Other Extension:
Allows you to retrieve a call 'parked' by another extension in the system.
Go to any telephone on the system.

Lift handset and dial #6 and the EXTENSION number where the call was parked.

TO PROGRAM SPEED DIAL NUMBERS ON UNUSED BUTTONS:

STORING A NUMBER IN MEMORY
Buttons that do not have a line appearance or feature assigned to it may be programmed as one touch speed dial numbers.

1) Press the FEATURE button and the button will light.

2) Press the button that you want programmed as a speed dial.

3) Dial the number to be programmed. Remember that, if you are programming to dial an outside number, you must dial a 9 first.

4) Press the FEATURE button to save your entry.
DIALING A STORED NUMBER
Lift the handset or press the button where you stored the number. The telephone will automatically dial the stored number.

NOTE: As a security precaution, do NOT store your LD authorization code as a speed dial.


MESSAGE WAITING LAMP INDICATOR:
The LED in the top right corner of the telephone will light red to provide you with a visual indication that you have a New Voice Mail Message.
