Step 3: Windows Service Packs

Verifying Windows XP Service Pack Level

For security reasons, please verify that Service Pack 2 is loaded on your computer.

1. Left click "Start" menu and then navigate "My Computer" and then right click to select the "Properties" menu item.
2. This will display the "System Properties" box. The service pack level is located on the right hand side of the window under the "System:" section.

This computer has Service Pack 2 listed. If no service pack level is listed, or Service Pack 1 is listed, Service Pack 2 has not been installed on your computer.
