Austin Workshop

The Center for a Livable World sponsored an executive workshop in the Texas state capitol building in Austin from June 1-3, 2010. Twenty key individuals, representing a cross-section of interests, worked behind closed doors to develop a set of consensus recommendations that cut across ideological divisions. Faculty from the College of Liberal & Applied Arts created a briefing book that guided the discussion.

The recommendations provide a roadmap on how to move forward in achieving sustainable development that should be adopted by policymakers at all levels of government. This event demonstrates that progress is possible without the baggage of ideology.
