Hispanic Studies Admission Requirements
Applicants for the MA in Hispanic Studies must meet the following conditions:
- Have earned a Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Latin American Studies, or a related field with a minimum undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
- Have completed at least twelve hours of advanced undergraduate work (300 level or above) in Spanish as a way of documenting academic proficiency in the language.
- Provide two letters of recommendation from former professors.
Students who do not meet minimum requirements of the program (overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0 and a 2.8 on the last 60 hours of undergraduate work) may be admitted on a provisional basis under the guidance of the program's Graduate Advisor. Admission to the MA in Hispanic Studies Program at SFA or any of its sponsored programs is open to qualified individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, or educationally unrelated handicaps.
