Greetings! Parents Day, one of the largest events on campus, brings parents to campus each fall to take part in their student’s experiences. Brought to you by the Residence Hall Association, the event includes a variety of fun activities for students and their families to do together, such as tours, a carnival and a community fair. Then, parents are invited to attend the Lumberjack football game.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I register for Parents Day online?
Yes, once registration opens for Parents Day, you will be able to do so online.
When is the last day to register for Parents Day?
The last day to register for Parents Day online is September 16, 2018. You may also register the day-of in the Regents Suite, located on the second floor of the Baker Pattillo Student Center.
What comes with the registration of Parents Day?
Registration allows parents to attend all the events scheduled on the campus. Registration does not include any of the items that are found in the packages.
Do I have to buy a package in order to get the merchandise?
No - you can pick and choose what you would like to purchase. However, the packages provide the best deals.
What do I do if I want to order more items along with my package(s)?
If you would like to purchase more merchandise once you arrive on campus, there will be a shop in the registration area, located in the Regents Suite on the second floor of the Baker Pattillo Student Center. However, keep in mind that merchandise sales are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Merchandise sold on the day of Parents Day can be paid for only with cash or checks.
When will I receive a confirmation email?
Please allow up to four business days for your order to be processed. Be sure to check that our email did not go to your junk/spam folder. After four business days, if you still have not received your confirmation email, contact Carla Chumley at firstname.lastname@example.org
Why does my confirmation state "card not present-processed"?
Your order was placed online, so we did not physically swipe your credit card. As long as you receive a confirmation email, your order has been accepted and will be ready for pick-up at check in.
Why does it say my delivery method is "none" on my confirmation email?
Parents Day items will be available for pick-up only at registration; therefore, there is no delivery method.
Where can parents stay?
In Nacogdoches, you will find hotels that are your well-known budget-friendly favorites, as well as independently owned, uniquely Nacogdoches standouts. Or, if you prefer a bed-and-breakfast, whether you are looking for cozy or luxurious, you are in luck. The “oldest town” offers a fabulous variety of options to satisfy almost every need. Be sure and check out Nacogdoches Convention and Visitors Bureau for complete information. (Because our residence halls are filled with current students, we do not have on-campus housing options for parents.)
I missed the deadline. Can I still attend Parents Day?
Sure! You can still register and attend Parents Day. Please keep in mind that merchandise sold will be at first-come, first serve-basis, so we advise you to purchase everything you will want beforehand. Merchandise sold at Parents Day can only be paid using cash and checks.
Where can I park on Parents Day?
Parents can park in resident and faculty/staff parking. Parents, however, may NOT park in Hall Director Parking, Service Truck Parking, or anywhere authorized for emergency vehicles.
Can my student pick up my order?
As long as your student knows the name in which you placed your order, your student may pick up your order. Student's name must be on registration or emailed to our coordinator at ParentsDay@sfasu.edu.
