Get your hands dirty

At SFA, we believe that the best way for our students to succeed is through access to the kinds of equipment and tools that you’ll be using in your career.

Not only does having access to top-of-the-line equipment help you learn, it also gives you the experience you need to impress future employers.

Investing in your future

To make sure that our students leave SFA with the most up-to-date training possible, we are constantly upgrading our equipment. In recent years, we have invested nearly $1 million dollars in to our student labs to ensure that you graduate with the latest skills and hands-on experience.

Student labs

Students interested in photojournalism are going to love our Photographic Journalism and Lighting Lab. This state-of-the-art facility features 25 computers loaded with the same software the pros use. Photography students also have access to our Lighting Lab, where they can learn the finer points of proper lighting for photo shoots. Students lacking equipment can borrow or rent DSLR cameras, lighting equipment and even laptops.

Students focusing on public relations and advertising can take advantage of our Advertising and Public Relations Lab, which features 25 computers filled with industry-standard software including:

  • Adobe Premium Design Suite CS5
  • Adobe Photoshop CS6
  • Adobe InDesign CS6
  • Adobe Illustrator CS6

The Pine Log
