Pre-Law Society

The Pre-Law Society at SFA is brings together SFA students interested in the field of law and law school. The Society is a recognized and official SFA student organization since 2012. Moreover, the Pre-Law Society helps students prepare for and apply to law schools. To do this, we regularly invite admissions officers from prominent law schools in Texas to talk about what it takes to be a strong law school applicant. Additionally, we regularly visit prominent law schools in Texas, including Baylor University, South Texas University, Southern Methodist University, Texas A&M University, and the University of Houston.

Beyond inviting speakers and visiting law schools, we also help students apply to law schools. In the spring semester, graduating seniors discuss their experiences during the application process. These discussions range from navigating the LSAC website, writing personal statements, asking for letters of recommendation, to maintaining your sanity. In addition to these discussions, LSAT prep courses are frequently offered throughout the fall and spring semesters, and professors are willing to look over resumes as well as personal statements.

Needless to say, we work hard to help students identify schools where they will excel. As a testament to this, please look at our page listing recent placements.
