LUMBERJACK SPOTLIGHT

  • FROM SFA PRE-HEALTH TO VETERINARIAN AND AUTHOR

Dr. Nikki Lejeune, Class of 2013, was a bit of an overachiever at SFA, and that hasn’t changed after graduation. At SFA, she served on the Traditions Council, as a writing and chemistry tutor, and as a student member of the American Medical Student Association among many other activities. Nikki went on to graduate from veterinary school as well as co-author a book with her father. Now, she is a successful veterinarian at Mission Veterinary Hospital in Mission, Texas.

  • THE DOCTORS WILL SEE YOU NOW

SFA’s pre-health program has seen thousands of students through the years, but the Mack family stands out. The sons of a physician, all three Mack brothers attended SFA before going on to become successful health care professionals. After graduating from SFA, Chris Mack attended dental school and has been a dentist in Longview for more than 30 years. Andy Mack also attended dental school after SFA, went on to a four-year oral surgery residency, and has been an oral surgeon for 28 years. Ben Mack became a general surgeon, also in Longview, where he has practiced general surgery for 25 years. Three brothers – one lasting SFA legacy.
