NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - East Texas Baroque will present "Musical Offering: An Evening of Musical Delights" at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, in Cole Concert Hall. The concert is a joint presentation of the Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music.
The newly-formed quartet consists of SFA faculty members Christina Guenther-Scott, flute; Jennifer Dalmas, violin; Evgeni Raychev, cello; and Ron Petti, harpsichord, all of whom received their doctoral degrees from Florida State University.
"The concert gives us a chance to combine our talents and play some wonderful selections from the Baroque period," said Dalmas.
A highlight of the program will be J.S. Bach's Trio Sonata from the Musical Offering, one of the composer's great late works, according to Dalmas.
Other pieces to be performed include Concerts Royaux and Pieces en Concert by Francois Couperin, Handel's Sonata in D Major for Violin and Basso Continuo and Hamburger Sonata in G Major by C.P.E. Bach.
Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for students.
