SFA bands to present joint concert

SFA Band

Members of the SFA Symphonic Band perform during a recent concert. The ensemble and the SFA Concert Band will present a joint concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, in W.M. Turner Auditorium.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University Concert Band and Symphonic Band will present a joint concert at 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, April 25, in W.M. Turner Auditorium.

During the Concert Band's portion of the program, Kevin Whitelaw, graduate student form Grand Rapids, Mich., will direct the ensemble in playing James Curnow's "Canticle of the Creatures" and E.E. Bagley's "National Emblem."

The band will also play "American Folk Rhapsody" by Clare Grundman and "Amazing Grace" by Frank Tichelli, under the direction of David W.
Campo, associate director of bands at SFA.

Under the direction of Fred J. Allen, SFA director of bands, the Symphonic Band will perform "Cenotaph" by Jack Stamp and "His Honor March" by Henry Fillmore. The group will close the concert with "Marche Slav" by Peter Tchaikovsky, under the direction of Steve Moreland, Hallsville graduate student.
