An agreement signed on March 31 by Stephen F. Austin State University and Tyler Junior College will ensure that TJC students who successfully complete specified courses transfer to SFA without loss of semester credit hours.

The agreement pertains to SFA’s Bachelor of Science degree in interdisciplinary studies with early childhood through sixth grade teacher certification and the Bachelor of Science degree in interdisciplinary studies with teacher certifications for several fourth-grade through eighth-grade subject areas.

According to Dr. John Jacobson, dean of the James I. Perkins College of Education at SFA, articulation agreements between the two institutions are already in place for agriculture and sociology.
