SFA to host chef’s association event

The Stephen F. Austin State University hospitality administration program is hosting a meeting of the Deep East Texas Chapter of the Texas Chef’s Association at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11. Special guests will be Ernst Gruch, certified master chef and president of the Texas Chef’s Association, and Bob Westbrook, president of the Texas Restaurant Association. 

The meeting is being organized by Chef Jorge Ramos of Farechild’s Restaurant, who is president of the Deep East Texas Chapter of the TCA. 

“This will be a great opportunity for aspiring chefs, students, and food enthusiasts to learn about the Texas Chef’s Association and the Texas Restaurant Association,” said Chay Runnels, SFA hospitality administration program coordinator.  

The meeting will be in the upstairs dining room of SFA’s Human Sciences North building.
