The Two Beans Production of the musical "Winnie the Pooh" will be presented at 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, and Thursday, March 6, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University. The event is part of the SFA Children's Performing Arts Series.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Christopher Robin and his friends from the Hundred Acre Wood are coming to Nacogdoches to present four performances of "Winnie the Pooh" Wednesday, March 5, and Thursday, March 6. The shows are part of the Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts' Children's Performing Arts Series.

The Two Beans Productions' hour-long musical will be presented both days at 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the SFA campus. The performance is recommended for 4-year-olds through third graders.

The script by Le Clanché du Rand remains faithful to Milne's stories, explained Diane Flynn, children's series director. Included are Pooh's and Piglet's attempt to catch a Heffalump, the search for Eyeore's missing tail, Rabbit's elaborate plan to trick Kanga and baby Roo, Owl's bird-brained advice, and, of course, Pooh's search for honey.

Music for the production was written by Allan J. Friedman, with lyrics by A.A. Milne, Kristin Sergel and du Rand.

"Knowing how well loved A.A. Milne's classic tales are, we have booked 'Winnie the Pooh' for four performances instead of our usual two," Flynn said. "Many area schools have already made their reservations, but seats are still available for all four shows. I encourage teachers and parents to place their orders soon since seats are assigned according to the order in which we receive payment."

Tickets are $6 for individuals and $5 each for groups of 20 or more. For tickets or more information, please call (936) 468-6407 or (888) 240-ARTS. W.M. Turner Auditorium is located in Griffith Fine Arts Building at 2222 Alumni Drive.

The Children's Performing Arts Series is sponsored in part by Citizens 1st Bank of Nacogdoches.
