The Stone Fort Museum will present, "El Camino Real de los Tejas," a teacher workshop aimed at the importance of incorporating the historic trace into the lesson plans specific to fourth and seventh grade Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.
All teachers are welcome to participate in the workshop, which begins Saturday, March 1, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and continues Sunday, March 2, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The workshop includes instruction by faculty, staff and researchers from SFA, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Park Service. Participants will tour the Mission Dolores Visitor Center and receive a 15-minute DVD produced by the Stone Fort Museum and Brazos Film and Video.
Other resources such as a compact disc manual, lesson plans, images and maps also will be provided.
Deadline for registration is Feb. 22. Space is limited to 30 participants.
