Stephen F. Austin State University music faculty members Evgeni Raychev, cello; Jennifer Dalmas, violin; and Linda Parr, piano; rehearse for their upcoming recital of piano trios at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, in SFA's Cole Concert Hall.
NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Three members of the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music faculty will present a recital of piano trios at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, in Cole Concert Hall, located in the Wright Music Building on the SFA campus.
Violinist Jennifer Dalmas, cellist Evgeni Raychev and pianist Linda Parr will perform Ludwig van Beethoven's "Piano Trio in D, Op. 70, No. 1" (The Ghost), Felix Mendelssohn's "Trio No. 1 in D minor" and Paul Schoenfeld's "Café Music."
"We are excited about presenting this evening of great chamber works to the community," said Parr.
A member of the SFA music faculty since 1986, Parr is active as a chamber musician and pianist in a duo-piano team with husband, Andrew Parr. She has performed in Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio; Pittsburgh, Penn.; Washington D.C.; and New York City for the Si-Yo Young Artists Series. Parr has also appeared with the Harrington String Quartet and collaborated with many artists in SFA's Chamber Music in the Pines Festival.
Dalmas joined the SFA faculty as an assistant professor in 2003 and also serves as the concertmaster of the Orchestra of the Pines. While pursuing her master's and doctoral degrees from Florida State University, she performed with the Tallahassee, Jacksonville and New World Symphonies in Florida. She has performed as a soloist and with orchestras in the United States, Central America and Europe.
A member of the SFA faculty since 2003, Raychev is the principal cellist of the Orchestra of the Pines and director of the Piney Woods Youth Orchestra. While studying at Florida State University, the Bulgarian native was principal cellist of the Florida State University Symphony, Chamber and Opera Orchestras. His performances with orchestras, as a chamber musician and as a soloist include concerts in Bulgaria, Austria, Czech Republic, Costa Rica and the United States.
