Registration still open for SFA's art tour to Amsterdam

The Sloten Windmill in Amsterdam is one of the sites participants on the Stephen F. Austin State University spring art tour can visit. Space is still available for the one-week tour, which departs on Sunday, May 14.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Seats are still available on the May 14 through 21art tour to Amsterdam sponsored by the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art.

"We still have a few spots to fill to reach the tour's capacity of 40 people," said Shannon Bailey, SFA gallery director. "But we must finalize our numbers by mid-February, so all money is due by Thursday, Feb. 9."

The $1,650 registration fee includes a round-trip bus ride from SFA to George Bush Intercontinental Airport, round-trip flight to Amsterdam, seven nights in a double occupancy hotel room and a one-day trip to the Kroller-Muller Museum and Nationaal Park De Hoge Veluwe.

Participants will be responsible for museum fees; taxi, bus, tram or metro fees; meals and personal expenses.

Accompanying the group will be SFA faculty members Charles Jones and Bradley Bailey. Participants may tour Amsterdam on their own or join Jones and Bailey in exploring the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum, the Stedeliijk Art Museum, the Cobra Museum and the Rembrandt Museum.

Other points of interest include the Museum van Loon, a canal house with an authentic old interior; the Anne Frank House; the Sloten Windmill; the New Church and the Old Church.
