NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present a dinner theater titled "It's S' Wonderful: the Songs of George Gershwin" Jan. 20 and 21 at the Fredonia Convention Center. All proceeds will benefit the scholarship fund in the voice/choral area at SFA.
The production features the great hits of Gershwin sung by SFA voice and choral faculty members, including Richard and Debbie Berry, Deborah Dalton, Michael Dean, Nita Hudson, Tim King, and Scott and Kimberly LaGraff. Shirley Watterston will accompany on the piano.
Included in the production are such numbers as "Summertime," "Bess, You Is my Woman Now," "Someone to Watch Over Me," "Our Love Is Here to Stay," "Embraceable You," and "I Got Rhythm."
A cash bar will open at 6 p.m,, and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.
Seating at tables for up to 10 people is by reservation only. Tickets are $35 each. Special patron seating is available for $60, $75 or $100. The deadline for purchasing tickets is Wednesday, Jan. 18.
