University offering New York City theatre trip

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Registrations are being accepted for a theatre tour to New York City Thursday, May 18, to Sunday, May 21, sponsored by the Stephen F. Austin State University Friends of Theatre.

The tour package includes a round-trip flight from Houston Intercontinental, three nights in a double-occupancy hotel room, ground floor seats to two Broadway shows, one dinner at Beacon Restaurant and a half-day guided tour of Manhattan.

Accompanying the group will be Kyle Kennedy, SFA assistant professor of theatre, who was a working actor in New York before joining the SFA faculty. He will be the guide for the Manhattan tour, which includes Battery Park, the Financial District, Wall Street, Ground Zero, China Town, Little Italy and Greenwich Village.

"This will be a fun-packed tour for all involved," said Betty Ann Taylor, president of the SFA Friends of Theatre Board. "We are excited about providing this opportunity for the greater East Texas community."

Cost of the tour is $1,390 per person, and a $200 deposit is due by Monday, Jan. 30. Another installment will be due Wednesday, Feb. 22, and the final balance will be due on Friday, March 24.

The tour is designed for a minimum of 20 people, but Taylor said they could easily accommodate more.
