NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS – The Stephen F. Austin State University Wind Ensemble will present its annual "Welcome Home" concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, in W.M. Turner Auditorium. The concert completes the band's tour to Canton, Mesquite, Forney and Wylie.

Each spring, the band travels to different parts of the state, explained Fred J. Allen, director of the Wind Ensemble and the band program at SFA. "This allows us to bring SFA to these schools. We meet future members of our band and show them what the SFA School of Music has to offer."

The concert will feature works by American composers. Allen will direct the band in performing Samuel Zyman's "Cycles" and the second movement of "Symphony No. 2" by Howard Hanson. David W. Campo, associate director of bands at SFA, will conduct "Variations on America" by Charles Ives.

The concert is a joint presentation of the SFA College of Fine Arts and School of Music.

Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for students. For tickets or more information, please visit www.finearts.sfasu.edu or call (936) 468-6407or (888) 240-ARTS.
