The School of Human Sciences in Stephen F. Austin State University’s James I. Perkins College of Education was recently awarded a 10-year reaccreditation from the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.
This accreditation is granted to programs that strengthen family and consumer sciences education and ensure the quality of education offered in programs within the school.
SFA’s School of Human Sciences has more than 350 students and offers programs in child and family development; family and consumer sciences; fashion merchandising; food, nutrition and dietetics; hospitality administration; interior merchandising; and interior design.
“This continued accreditation just reinforces how the School of Human Sciences continues to lead within the state of Texas and is gaining national recognition for its relevant and quality programs,” said Dr. John E. Jacobson, dean of the college.
