An agreement signed recently by Stephen F. Austin State University and Northeast Texas Community College in Mount Pleasant will help ensure NTCC students who successfully complete courses in the Associate Arts in Teaching degree transfer to SFA without loss of semester credit hours to complete a bachelor of science in interdisciplinary studies.
The agreement pertains to future teachers of Early Childhood through sixth grade, as well as a variety of teaching fields for fourth- through eighth-grade classrooms.
NTCC is one of 21 Texas community colleges participating with SFA in a federally funded grant that enables paraprofessionals working as classroom teacher assistants to complete their bachelor’s degree with teacher certification via the Internet using Web camera technology.
