SFA's Music Discovery Camp

Austin State University's Music Preparatory Division will again offer a week-long camp, "Cinderella--Then and Now," for first through sixth graders July 10 through 14.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Registrations are being accepted for "Cinderella--Then and Now," a Music Discovery Camp for first through sixth graders offered by the Stephen F. Austin State University Music Preparatory Division from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, July 10, through Friday, July 14. Registration deadline is Wednesday, July 5.

"Campers will travel back in time to meet great Russian composers and hear some of the world's greatest music, " said Jennifer Weems, the camp's director.

Participants will listen to Sergei Prokofiev's "Cinderella," Modest Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition, " Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's "Scheherazade" and Igor Stravinsky's "Petrouchka." Other activities include games, crafts and creative writing. Sessions will be held in the Wright Music Building on the SFA campus.

Cost of the camp is $65. Registration forms are available on the Music Preparatory Division's Web site, www.music.sfasu.edu/prep, or in the SFA School of Music Office, Wright Music Building Room 150.
