Each participating child will be a "checker," with the team leader telling them where to move. The checkers can "jump" each other by squirting a water gun. There will be prizes for the winning team members. The tournament will be held on the museum lawn. In addition to the human checkers game, traditional checkerboard games will be available during the event. A silent auction of four handmade checkerboard games will begin June 30 and end at 1 p.m. on July 4. For more information, call (936) 468-2408.
