NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art extends a public invitation to an art exhibition and reception from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at The Art Center @ The Old Opera House, 329 E. Main Street in downtown Nacogdoches.

The exhibition, "Art in the Pines," will include artworks completed by the community college, elementary, middle and high school art teachers attending the "Renew Yourself in Art" retreat held on the SFA campus Sunday, June 24, through Thursday, June 25.

The retreat focuses on the educators' own creativity and provides them an opportunity to attend studio classes and modern art seminars, explained Marsha Blount, SFA art instructor and content director for the retreat.

"Wednesday's elegant event will feature the participants' artwork as well as live music, wine and hors d'ouevres," Blount said. "We welcome the Nacogdoches community to come view the exhibition and meet the artists."

For more information, please contact Blount at (936) 468-1235 or visit the retreat's Web site at www.art.sfasu.edu/retreat.
