Fulbright scholar attends DC ceremony

Elizabeth Rhodes, dance professor at Stephen F. Austin State University, recently attended the J. William Fulbright Prize for International Understanding ceremony in Washington, D. C. The prize was awarded to former President Bill Clinton. Rhodes served as a Fulbright scholar to Panama in 1996 and to Bolivia in 2001 and recently returned from teaching dance in France six different national institutes under the Fulbright Senior Specialists program. Rhodes is pictured with Dr. R. Fenton-May, president of the Fulbright Association, a non-profit organization that supports and promotes the Fulbright Program, an international educational and cultural exchange initiative created in 1946 by legislation sponsored by the late Sen. J. William Fulbright of Arkansas. There are Fulbright exchanges between the United States and more than 150 other countries.
