Emily Taravella - May 4, 2007

Stephen F. Austin State University students enrolled in International Business Law - Europe and the World Court will soon tour many of the places they have spent the semester studying.

The three-hour course, offered through the Nelson Rusche College of Business, culminates in a trip abroad scheduled May 14-28.

The course was designed to expose students to the legal environment of global business with emphasis on international law and dispute resolution, according to a brochure for the course.

Students will tour the World Trade Organization and World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva; the International Court of Arbitration, the International Chamber of Commerce, and the U.S. Embassy in Paris; the European Union Commission and Parliament in Brussels; and the Peace Palace, the International Court of Justice, the Permanent Court of Arbitration and the Academy for International Law in The Hague, Netherlands.

Students will receive personalized, private tours at each location. In addition, students will tour Chillon Castle and the Olympic Museum in Lake Geneva, visit the Swiss Alps and view the Matterhorn, tour the Costers Diamond Factory in Amsterdam, and enjoy other sightseeing opportunities at each destination.

Depending upon adequate access to the Internet, students intend to write about their experiences and post pictures on a Web log, or "blog," hosted by The Daily Sentinel.
