Lucia Barbato, associate director for the Center for Geospatial Technology at Texas Tech University, was the keynote speaker for the annual East Texas Geospatial Conference, held at Stephen F. Austin State University. Barbato spoke about her experiences as a GISCorps volunteer during the Hurricane Katrina relief effort in Mississippi.
The geospatial center at Texas Tech is the newest member of the Columbia Regional Geospatial Service Center system.
