Stephen F. Austin State University

The 19th annual Gala honoring major donors to Stephen F. Austin State University is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Fredonia Hotel in Nacogdoches.

Gala festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with a formal dance, followed by a candle light dinner and presentations at 7 p.m.

Entertainment will be provided by the Tom Houston Orchestra and New Orleans-based Shanon & The Girls.

Dr. Thomas Houston has been a member of the SFA faculty since 1967. His orchestra is devoted to keeping Big Band music alive and has performed throughout the Southwest and the western Caribbean.

Single ticket prices are $160 for orchestra seating and $110 for ballroom seating. Seating arrangement is based on timeliness and/or request of a guest. Tables seat up to10 guests. Valet parking also will be provided.

Proceeds from the Gala, which is sponsored by the SFAU Foundation, will help build the permanent endowment created by the foundation to honor faculty achievement. As a commitment to excellence, this continually growing endowment recognizes innovation and excellence in teaching, research and service.
