NACOGDOCHES - While it may be true that "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players," theatre students at Stephen F. Austin State University know that much work often goes into creating that stage.
In preparation for the current production of William Shakespeare's "As You Like It" (from which the famous lines come), students cut out 50,000 paper leaves and glued them to scenic netting to create the Forest of Arden's tree canopy and completed 39 costumes that evoke the idea of the Elizabethan period.
The play runs tonight through Saturday, Nov. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in W.M. Turner Auditorium. It is a joint presentation of the SFA College of Fine Arts and School of Theatre and is a part of the 2007-2008 University Series. It is sponsored in part by Tipton Ford-Lincoln-Mercury of Nacogdoches.
Tickets are $18 for adults, $12 for seniors and $6 for students. For tickets or more information, please visit www.sfasu.edu/finearts or call (936) 468-6407 or (888) 240-ARTS.
