NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Tenor Bruce Fowler, newly-appointed assistant professor of music at Stephen F. Austin State University, will present a faculty voice recital at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus.
Fowler, who earned international attention as a winner of the Plácido Domingo Operalia Competition, will perform early Italian arias and Benjamin Britten's "Canticle III."
Serving as guest artists will be three members of the SFA music
faculty: Professor Charles Gavin, horn; Associate Professor Ron Petti, harpsichord; and Lecturer Evgeni Raychev, cello.
Fowler, a native of West Monroe, La., joined the SFA faculty in August.

He has performed at La Scala in Milan and the Salzburg Festival and with the Paris Opera and the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
Fowler's concert and recital repertoire encompasses nine languages and composers from W.A. Mozart and Hector Berlioz to Britten and Frank Martin, with recent performances in Boston, Lyon and Paris. He performs this season with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra under Marek Janowski in concerts in Berlin and Barcelona.
